Uptown’s first pop-up shop

Clean Slate Botanicals is launching a holiday pop-up shop at Uptown Shopping Center.  Clean Slate Botanicals is the creative force behind all-natural, plant-based candles and bath and body products.  Owners, Ben Whalen and Haley Brooke, added their new space’s finishing touches for the grand opening this past Saturday, November 4th.

Following the grand opening this passed weekend, Ben Whalen, posted on his Facebook “Wow! Yesterday was an absolutely delight! I watched the sun rise in the new space and reflected on the road to the new opening day.”

Clean Slate Botanicals will offer exclusive items available only at the pop-up store, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Tuesday-Saturday, November 4th to January 31st.

Uptown Shopping Center, located at 4800 Line Avenue, is locally owned and leased by Sealy Real Estate Services (SRES).  Pop-up shops have been sought to offer and grow local merchants at the center.  “We have been eager to bring this initiative to fruition.  With extra space available, we see this as a chance to support the local artisans and makers in the community. Uptown is enthusiastic about collaborating with Ben Whalen and exploring additional local merchants,” conveys Mark Sealy, SRES President.

The concept of pop-up shops holds immense potential for contributing to local growth and success.  Utilizing the available spaces in this manner presents a much-needed avenue for small businesses and local artisans to grow their businesses and build brand loyalty.  From deepening connections with potential customers to testing new markets, pop-up shops offer brands a chance to expand their offline presence while building momentum to evolve their presence into a longer-term retail destination potentially.  A perfect example is Lululemon Shreveport’s location, which began as a pop-up and is now an integral part of Fern Marketplace.
